The meal box company HelloFresh has the contract with Gleeactress Lea Michele canceled on Tuesday. The company links recent allegations to the actress about racism, it said in a statement Twitter.
“HelloFresh rejects any form of racism or discrimination,” the company said. “We take the allegations against Lea Michele very seriously and have ended our business ties with her with immediate effect.”
On Tuesday, actress Samantha Marie Ware said that Michele lives up to her a hell made during the shooting of Glee. Michele even made Ware doubt whether she still wanted a career in Hollywood.
Other cast members of Glee expressed support for Ware through social media. Black Lightningactor Dabier Snell, who guest-starred in the comedy series in 2014, reported that Michele wouldn’t let him sit at the table with her and other cast members because he “didn’t belong there”.
‘I listen to the criticism and I learn from it’
Michele apologized in a Wednesday statement on social media. “While I don’t remember this particular event and never judged others by their background or skin color, this is not the point here. The point is that I clearly acted in a way that hurt other people.”
“Whether it was my privileged position that sometimes made me feel insensitive or inappropriate, or it was my immaturity and I was unnecessarily difficult, I want to apologize for my behavior and all the pain I have caused.”
Michele, who is currently pregnant, says that she has recently thought about her own way of acting. “I know I have to keep working to improve myself and take responsibility for my actions so that I can be a real role model for my child. I listen to the criticism and I learn from it,” said the actress.
