Giving up in the third round, Dewa Kipas loses to GM Irene Kharisma: Okezone Sports

TANGERANG – Dadang Subur aka Dewa Kipas decided to give up in the third round when he dueled the chess Grand Master (GM) Irene Kharisma Sukandar. That way, Dewa Kipas, who was eliminated by three rounds by Irene, admitted that he had lost the friendly battle of chess.

Actually the chess battle between GM Irene vs Dewa Kipas which took place on Monday (22/3/2021) was held for four rounds. However, because Dewa Kipas had already lost three rounds to Irene, he finally gave up.

Dewa Kipas’ defeat ended in the third round, where GM Irene Kharisma played using white pawns. Irene also expected a different step from the first round when using white pawns as well.

Meanwhile, Dewa Kipas returned to playing horses more often and restrained his elephants. The Fan God is also again playing defense and waiting for a move from Irene.

Midway through the game, when the battle is fierce, the Fan God takes another wrong step. Because when he played the minister, this actually enabled Irene to advance her horse and the first female chess GM gave two threats to the two Dewa Kipas chess pieces.

The fan god soon made a blunder and allowed Irene to play the upper hand. As a result, Dadang Subur, who knew he could no longer win, decided to give up.

Previously, in the first half, Irene, who used white pawns, tried to immediately control the game. Meanwhile, Dewa Kipas chose to play the caro-kann defense in order to survive in this first round.

Irene continued to press the Fan God. To the extent that the Fan God made a mistake so that Irene easily ate one officer from Dadang. Because of that mistake, Irene became easier to apply her steps and soon Irene won the first round.

Entering the second half, this time it was Dewa Kipas’s turn to use a white pawn. Again in the beginning Dewa Kipas chose not to play with his elephant pawn and he played more horses.

Interestingly, Dewa Kipas also played more relaxed and seemed not in a hurry to avenge the defeat in the first round. Dewa Kipas was then able to make significant resistance to Irene.

To the point that in the middle of the game, the amount of time Irene had was much less because she took a lot more time thinking. That clearly benefited the Fan God.

However, Irene slowly returned to play calmly and stepped on her pawn to threaten Fertile Brother. Again Dadang Subur made a blunder and he was getting depressed.

Soon, Dewa Kipas gave up because his chances of winning were over in the second round.
