Gijón inaugurates its first calisthenics circuit | BE Gijón | Today for Today Gijón

The Gijón City Council has inaugurated this Thursday, in the Viesques Fluvial Park, the first calisthenics circuit in the city. It is a sports equipment for the practice of this physical training method in which you work only with the weight of the body.

The Councilor for Public Works, Elm Ron, has explained that people who are fond of calisthenics had requested this new facility, which has parallel bars and horizontal bars of different heights, located on an area of ​​100 square meters. He also added that there are more and more people who practice this sport, therefore, it is necessary to provide the city with the precise tools to promote healthy lifestyle habits.

This performance is part of the contract for the renovation of children’s and biosaludables games, estimated at 250,000 euros, which includes the replacement of the children’s games in Pescadores, Plaza Europa, Isabel Allende, Parque Fluvial, El Candanal, as well as the safety pavement in the Zarracina area and Plaza Romualdo Alvargonzález Lanquine.

On the other hand, a new contract is in process, worth 195,000 euros, to renovate the playgrounds at Parque Fluvial, Plaça del Arbeyal, Parque del Lauredal, Calle Doctor Eguiburu Banciella and Parque de Moreda. For the renovation of the park of Isabel la Católica and within the investment that is being undertaken in it, an item of around 70,000 euros is estimated.
