Gigi Hadid pledges to donate proceeds from Fashion Week to Ukraine

This season, Gigi Hadid will donate her proceeds from Fashion Week to Ukrainians suffering from the Russian invasion.

“I pledge to donate my proceeds from the Fall 2022 shows to help those suffering from the war in Ukraine, as well as continue to support those experiencing the same in Palestine,” Hadid wrote in an Instagram post on Sunday, adding that he was following in the footsteps of model Mica Argañaraz.

The 26-year-old model explained that while she can’t control when she has to work, she does have autonomy over how she can use her work for good.

“Having a fixed schedule for Fashion Month has meant that my colleagues and I often present new fashion collections during heartbreaking and traumatic moments in history,” he wrote. “We don’t have control over most of our work schedules, but we’d like to walk ‘for’ something. “

Hadid, who according to Forbes is one of the highest paid models in the world, said her thoughts are with those who fight against “human injustice” and that war harms the innocent.

“Our eyes and hearts must be open to all human injustice. May we all see each other as brothers and sisters, beyond politics, beyond race, beyond religion. At the end of the day, innocent lives pay for war, not leaders,” she wrote. “HANDS OFF UKRAINE. HANDS OFF PALESTINE. PEACE. PEACE. PEACE. 🕊”

Several fans and fashionistas flocked to the comments section to congratulate Hadid on her generosity.

“Setting a graceful example my beautiful friend ❤️👏,” wrote Helena Christensen.

“Peace for all!” added Diane von Furstenberg.

“I love you 💕,” wrote Argañaraz, who previously announced his plan to donate his own salary from Fashion Month to the cause.

Elsa Hosk and Donatella Versace commented with various red heart emojis.
