It was quite a shock for neighbor Simon Muilwijk, although he himself was not at the park when it happened. “We were cycling and we heard an ambulance and fire brigade on the way. We had a drink on a terrace and then we heard that there had been a gas explosion at EuroParcs. When we got here, we saw that our neighbor behind had been completely wiped out it.”
The part of the park where the chalet was located has turned into a gigantic havoc, says Muilwijk. “It looks like a war zone. The door at our chalet has been dislocated, in the kitchen things have jumped out of the cupboards, the microwave has come out of its seams. It is gigantic, it must have been a huge explosion.”
