Gibrat and Roger standard bearers of the new Maghen sale

An exceptional Gibrat sale

Like he usually does, Daniel maghen begins the sale with a leading author. After André Juillard, here is Jean-Pierre Gibrat, that we no longer present (The reprieve, the flight of the raven, Matteo …).

This is not a studio fundraising sale but nothing less than the best and most iconic plates and illustrations of his work. Why is he selling them? He explains it in the video published in our interview section on our site (at 2 p.m. today), at the same time as he gives us some secrets of his work.

This sale includes the original cover of the first part of the Sursis (1997) estimated at 50,000 – 60,000 € and the end page of the diptych (1999) estimated at 40,000 – 50,000 €. Exceptional.

These 17 works are the subject of a dedicated auction and catalog. Download it, it’s free.

In the same movement, Maghen is auctioning 18 works from the workshop of the Spanish designer Roger Ibáñe said Roger (1977), and its series Jazz Maynard (ed. Dargaud) small jewels with the scent of thriller respond to the syncopated and bewitching rhythm of jazz.

The hallmark of Galerie Daniel Maghen is to build the ratings of its artists by ordering original illustrations from them.

This is still the case here with Roger where we find covers and originals of Jazz Maynard, but with designs made especially for sale.
