Giants beat Rockies to 100 wins

Mike Yastrzemski produced three runs through one of four home runs the San Francisco Giants hit to beat the Colorado Rockies 7-2 on Friday night for 100 season wins.

The Giants, leaders of the National League West Division, are the team with the most wins of the year.

San Francisco started the night with a game ahead of the Dodgers. The difference prevailed after Los Angeles’ triumph in Arizona.

Of their last 20 games, the Giants have won 16.

Venezuelan Kervin Castro (1-0) solved two innings and bagged his first victory in the majors. The Giants haven’t had 100 wins since 2003, when they were 100-62.

In the seventh inning, San Francisco finished the game. After singles by Brandon Crawford and Evan Longoria, Yastrzemski hit his 25th homer off reliever Ashton Goudeau (1-1).

A single by Buster Posey paid off another run for the visitors.

For the Giants, the Venezuelan Wilmer Flores 1-0 with a run scored.

For the Rockies, Raimel Tapia 5-2 with a run scored. The Venezuelan Elías Díaz 4-2 with a push.
