Certainly not all activities in Ghost of Tsushima can be solved in this peaceful way. On the contrary, you will almost always have to fight. As a player, you constantly have to weigh up the lessons of Yuna and those of Shimura. In other words: do you go for the direct approach, or do you operate from the shadows and take out your enemies one by one?
For example, if you want to conquer a Mongolian settlement, you can do this in a number of ways. You can try to sneak in and attack the Mongols with stealth to kill them. You can climb an adjacent hill and bombard the mongols with arrows, or you can walk to the gate of the fortress and challenge the strongest warrior to a duel, after which you must also defeat the rest of the armed forces in an open battle.
Both approaches feel wonderful in their own way. Jumping off your horse just in front of a fortress and full of bravado to call the strongest warrior to defeat it in a showdown, you will feel like a real samurai. When you jump from roof to roof in an enemy camp and kill your opponents with throwing knives, bows and arrows and sneak attacks, you really feel like the Ghost of Tsushima.
