According to the UI lung specialist, Dr. Gatut Priyonugroho, Sp.P, the Delta variant is still from the same virus, namely SARS-CoV-2. It’s just that it has some differences from the previous variant.

So if the corona virus has a cone in the head, there is a slight change,” he explained in a seminar held by the Faculty of Administrative Sciences, University of Indonesia (UI). ), Wednesday (7/7/2021).

But in the Delta variant, it can transmit more. For example, 1 patient can infect 8 people.

Meanwhile, the risk of infected patients being hospitalized is up to 2 times. The number of viruses in the Delta variant is more in the previous variant.
