One of the largest aircraft in the world, the Airbus A380, will land in Indonesia. The plane belongs to the Emirates airline, which is supposed to fly to Bali.
This was announced by the President and Director of PT Angkasa Pura I Faik Fahmi at the Ministry of SOEs, Jakarta, on Monday (7/11/2022).
“Emirates plans to operate 380 of them in Bali,” he said.
Faik explained, Emirates expressed his seriousness. Because Emirates has two flights a day where passengers reach 100%.
Therefore, Emirates is considering using a larger aircraft, the A380.
“It’s already in the final discussion because their team came here, checked the airport, the overhaul needs to be changed. Technically there are no problems, right,” he explained.
According to him, the plane could be used for the Christmas holidays. However, he said the decision was not final.
“Maybe later on at Christmas they will be able to use the 380, but this is not final because the decision is again up to them. However, they said they can come in by plane,” he explained.
If this is achieved, Faik said, the aircraft will become the first A380 aircraft to operate regularly in Indonesia.
“We will inform you later when there is certainty. This is the first 380 that will operate regularly in Indonesia, at I Gusti Ngurah Rai Airport,” he said.
Quoted from the Airbus website, the A380 aircraft can seat 500 passengers. These aircraft can help relieve congestion at airports by providing greater passenger capacity.
