‘Studio 100’ is celebrating its 25th anniversary this year, the perfect occasion for Gert Verhulst to release a CD. “I had been toying with this idea for several years. Together with Johan Vanden Eede, I have written a huge number of songs for our artists over the past 25 years, but since some series have been discontinued for several years, a rich repertoire remained in the closet.”
Verhulst therefore decided to give a number of songs a second life. This includes music that would originally appear in the series ‘Het Huis Anubis’, ‘Spring’, ‘Ghost Rockers’ and ‘Amika’. In addition, there are also two songs from the ‘Studio 100’ musicals ‘Robin Hood’ and ‘De 3 Biggetjes’.
To give the songs a new musical twist, Verhulst got help from Steve Willaert. “Hopefully it will be a surprising musical journey of discovery for both the fans of the past and for a new generation,” says Verhulst.
The album’s first single will be released on August 20. It was titled ‘She’ and comes from the series ‘Het Huis Anubis’.
