The 2023 All-Star Game has two starting pitchers who will be in the center of the diamond for the first time to start the All-Star Game: Gerrit Cole (Yankees) and Zac Gallen (D-Backs).
Both pitchers were confirmed as the pitchers with whom the duel will begin this Tuesday, July 11 at the T-Mobile Stadium in Seattle, being the debut of both players as those in charge of starting the mid-season duel.
It was the managers of the teams, the leader of the Young Circuit, Dusty Baker, and the foreman of the Old Circuit, Rob Thomson, who were in charge of presenting Cole and Gallen as the starting pitchers.

Cole is the 12th Yankee to start an All-Star Game, but only the first since Roger Clemens did so in the 2001 event.
Cole, who indicated over the weekend that starting in an All-Star Game would be a “dream come true,” is in another dominant season for the Bronx squad. The right-hander finished the first half with a 9-2 record, a 2.85 ERA and 123 strikeouts, marking his third consecutive year with at least 200 strikeouts in New York.
ZAC GALLEN, NATIONAL LEAGUE ALL-STAR GAME STARTER
He’s in his first All-Star Game and has been there for the D-backs. The right-hander is 11-3 with a 3.04 ERA and 125 strikeouts. He shares the Major League lead in wins and leads the National League with a WHIP of 1,048.
Gallen is the first Arizona D-backs pitcher to start a Midseason Classic since Curt Schilling in 2002 and only the third for the Arizona team. Randy Johnson was the starter for the event in the two years before Schilling in 2000 and 2001. With information from the majors.com
