Andreas Breme, one of the greatest German and European football players, passed away at the age of 63.
Breme suffered a heart attack and breathed his last in a Munich clinic.
He will go down in history for his goal from the penalty spot in the 1990 World Cup final, as Germany beat Diego Maradona’s Argentina 1-0.
He was born on November 9, 1960 in Hamburg and had an eventful 25-year career on the pitch playing as a left back and defensive midfielder. He started his football career from Babek and then wore the jerseys of Saarbrucken, Kaiserslautern, Bayern, Inter and Zaragoza.
He ended his career in 1998 returning to Kaiserslautern. With West Germany and then reunified Germany, he made 86 appearances with 8 goals between 1984 and 1994.
