Germany and France supplied arms to Russia despite EU embargo – The Telegraph

Germany and France circumvented the EU arms embargo imposed on Russia in 2014. Thus, companies from both EU member states supplied Moscow with bombs, rockets and other military equipment.

Journalists of the publication suggest that the weapons received by Russia can be used today in the war against Ukraine.

“They sent (to Russia – ed.) equipment, including bombs, rockets, rockets and cannons, despite the EU arms embargo on Russia imposed after (occupation – ed.) of Crimea in 2014,” the article says editions.

The journalists also reported that, at least 10 NATO member countries have exported military equipment from Russia worth almost 350 million euros. About 78% of the total amount of Russian equipment went to German and French companies.

“Both Paris and Berlin resisted the EU ban on gas purchases from Russia, and at this time, the bloc is paying Moscow a billion euros a day for the supply of energy resources,” the authors of the article noted.

As a reminder, on April 14, it became known that The EU closed the “loophole” that allowed the governments of member countries to export weapons to Russia tens of millions of euros, despite the embargo.
