The German authorities, which refuse Ukraine not only to supply combat aircraft, but also to create a program for training Ukrainian pilots, are instead going to export almost fifty Eurofighter fighters. Aircraft plan to sell to Saudi Arabia, writes Bild.
The material notes: the German army has 138 Eurofighter fighters, and companies from Germany participate in a consortium of manufacturers of European combat aircraft. However, despite such an arsenal and opportunities, the German side is in no hurry to join the aviation coalition in support of Ukraine.
Instead, the German government intends to sell 48 Eurofighter aircraft to Saudi Arabia, European Committee Chairman Anton Hofreiter said.
He called it wrong when Berlin refuses to provide Ukraine, which opposes the Russian invasion, with this or that weapon, but at the same time supplies modern weapons to “dictatorships and autocracies.”
Recall that this week the British Ministry of Defense reported that the Kingdom will begin a program to train Ukrainian pilots in August. At the initial stage, it is planned to train up to 20 pilots from Ukraine.
Earlier, NATO made it clear that the issue of transferring fighter jets to Ukraine would not be resolved in the short term. Western aircraft will most likely not take part in the current counter-offensive of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
In turn, the media wrote that the first F-16 fighters could appear in Ukraine early next year.
