Gerindra Party Prepares Support for Jokowi’s Youngest Son Running for Mayor

Secretary General of the Party Gerindra Ahmad Muzani admitted that his party is preparing support for President Joko Widodo’s youngest son (Jokowi), Kaesang Parangep running for mayor. Muzani said support for Kaesang is there.

“Yes,” said Muzani briefly, at his residence, Karawaci, Yes, Monday (24/4/2023). Muzani answered the question whether there was support from Gerindra pushing Kaesang forward in Depok 1.

As is known, there was an interesting moment when the Minister of Defense who is also General Chair of the Gerindra Party, Prabowo Subianto, visited the private residence of President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) in Surakarta or Solo, Central Java on the first day of Eid 2023. Jokowi’s youngest son, Kaesang Parangepgetting rice for Prabowo at the luncheon.

This moment was uploaded by Jokowi’s eldest son who is also the Mayor of Solo, Gibran Rakabuming Raka, on his Twitter, Saturday (22/4). Gibran initially responded to tweets from netizens who asked whether he had accompanied Prabowo around Solo.

Gibran then replied to the tweet with a photo and a short caption “Again eating opor”. The photo uploaded by Gibran shows Kaesang serving Prabowo by spooning rice onto the chairman of the Gerindra Party’s plate.

Gibran’s tweet was also replied to by Kaesang. Whether joking or not, Kaesang refers to himself as a candidate for Mayor of Depok and is asking for support.

“I heard that the candidate for Mayor of Depok, right? Looks like he wants to ask for party support,” wrote Kaesang.

Prabowo came to Solo accompanied by his son Didiet and also Secretary General Gerindra Muzani.
