New, cryptic message from Gerhard Schröder’s wife.
Soyeon Schröder-Kim (54) posted a drawing on Instagram on Wednesday (source: debeste.de) depicting two men. They stand on a board that rests on the beam of a scaffolding in such a way that they balance each other. The man in front smokes calmly and doesn’t see how the man behind starts to kick him down – and thus both will fall into the abyss.
Below is the message: “Some people are not aware of the consequences of their actions”.

What is Mrs Schröder-Kim trying to tell us? How does she interpret this metaphor? Who is on the edge?
Several interpretations suggest themselves:
︎ Is she warning Germany and the West of an embargo on Russian natural gas? In fact, that would not only hit the Putin war dictatorship so hard that the Putin system could collapse. Germany would also feel severe consequences – if not as severe as gas lobbyist Gerhard Schröder (77), who was once Chancellor, might have us believe.
That would mean: In Kim-Schröder’s interpretation, Putin comes first, behind Germany or the West. And that would be a classic case of perpetrator-victim reversal – after all, Russia started the war.
▶︎ Or is Putin behind and kicking Ukraine down? Then Kim’s posting would be another pseudo-peace message – like the photo she posted from Moscow last Friday. Soyeon Schröder-Kim accompanied her husband there on his mysterious mission.

The photo shows Schröder-Kim in the luxury suite of the Baltschug-Kempinski hotel in Moscow, clasping her hands at the hotel window with a view of the Kremlin. A hardly believable prayer pose, certainly not for peace in Ukraine.
︎ She may also interpret her own husband into it. According to his wife, Gazprom-Gerd, who smokes himself, would be the victim of a character assassination campaign.
As a reminder: since the beginning of the war, there have been calls that taxpayers should no longer pay for his office and that honorary titles should be taken away from him (on Tuesday, Schröder himself, insulted, gave up the honorary citizenship of Hanover).
But it is true: Schröder has damaged his reputation over the years with his princely paid commitment to Russian raw materials companies such as Rosneft and Gazprom – and even now he still maintains his friendship with Kremlin despot Vladimir Putin.
