Georgia will only officially declare war if the majority of the people support it in a referendum.

“We can hold a referendum, a poll, whether people want to open a second front (against Russia) in Georgia or not,” Iraqi MP from Georgia’s ruling Iraqili Kobakhidze said on television. Georgia Channel 1as quoted by Russia today.
The statement was in response to statements by several Ukrainian officials who called on Tbilisi to join the fight with their country against Russia.
He said Georgia should make its own decision through a referendum to start a war against Russia or not.
“If people really want it, we will discuss it (a possible war against Russia) in the future,” Kobakhidze said.
Previous Ukrainian lawmakers said Georgia had a chance to claim Abkhazia and Ossetia lost.
The two territories declared their independence from Georgia in 2008 following the conflict between Moscow and Tbilisi.
South Ossetia then said it wanted to join Russia in March of this year. However, Russia is still undecided due to its focus on aggression in Ukraine.
