Dubai, United Arab Emirates (CNN) – Syrian artist George Wassouf, known as the “Sultan of Tarab,” announced the death of his son Wadih on his Twitter account on Friday.
Wassouf was known for his intense attachment to his late son, and the Syrian artist was called “Abu Wadih.” In an earlier post by Wassouf on Twitter, he described his son as “the sweetheart at heart.”
A large number of stars have expressed their grief over Wadih’s departure, while fans of the Syrian artist have launched the hashtag #Wadih_George_Wassouf, expressing their grief over the death of their favorite star’s son.
