Sandra Krastiņa: “My story will be about a group of artists who started their creative activity while still being students of the Academy of Arts. In the 1980s, the borders of the USSR had not weakened, especially at the beginning of the decade, Latvian independence still seemed like a utopia. But already after 1985 – the so-called reconstruction and later during the revival – we began to realize freedom as an attainable goal. By following only the themes of our artworks, I think you can read the rise of will that was in fashion in society and for which each of us was increasingly ready.”
