The construction site never stopped, the workers worked seven days a week, 24 hours a day and did not stop even for Covid, the inauguration could be in the rain, just as it was raining that damned 14 August 2018, when the structure collapsed, and the organizers have already equipped themselves for the eventuality by arranging a thousand umbrellas for the participants.
The ceremony – The first to intervene on stage will be the mayor Marco Bucci, followed by the governor Giovanni Toti and Renzo Piano. The Prime Minister Giuseppe Conte will close. Announcing his arrival in Genoa, the premier wrote on Facebook: “From a wound that remains difficult to heal the symbol of a new Italy rising again”. After the ribbon cutting, and bad weather permitting, the Frecce Tricolori will greet the Head of State and the city with the Tricolore and the colors of Genoa. The blessing will take place amid the sound of the sirens of the ships in the port, where there is also the Amerigo Vespucci, the great sailing ship of the Italian Navy ambassador of Italy to the world, which at sunset will cast the Tricolor on the sails. The lantern will also be illuminated by the red-white-green of the Italian flag.
