Army Chief of Staff (KSAD) TNI General Dudung Abdurachman led the handover of two regional commanders. The certificate was carried out at the Great General Hall AH Nasution, Headquarters, Jakarta.
The position of Pangdam Jaya/Jayakarta was handed over from Maj. Gen. Untung Budiharto to Maj. Gen. Mohamad Hasan. While the position of Pangdam Iskandar Muda was transferred from TNI Major General Mohamad Hasan to TNI Major General Novi Helmy Prasetya who previously served as Commander of the 3rd Infantry Division of Kostrad. It is known that Maj. Gen. Untung Budiharto will enter his retirement period.
In his presentation, Dudung conveyed that the Jayakarta/Jayakarta Regional Military Command and the Iskandar Muda Regional Military Command are regional Main Commands (Kotama) that carry out very strategic tasks in maintaining security stability in their respective areas.
“In the current era of information openness and freedom, social conflicts are rife in the region, especially entering a political year like this year. Therefore, the Jayakarta Military Command as a barometer of security in Indonesia must be able to carry out its duties properly and not hesitate in acting against parties “Those who want to divide the unity and integrity of the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia, so that it can have a positive effect on the security of the Capital City as a national political barometer and become a reference for regional units because of its strategic location,” said Dudung.
Dudung also asked the Iskandar Muda Military Command to increase security in the border area. Because the border region is an area prone to transnational crimes such as weapons and drug smuggling, human trafficking, illegal logging and mining and the sale of illegal natural resources.
“In addition, maximum security at the border, including on the outer islands, can prevent these crimes from occurring and at the same time prevent the entry of armed radical groups that can disrupt national security and political stability,” said Dudung.
Dudung also asked the Kodam to create conducive conditions by means of intensive communication, dialogue and interaction with the community.
“Create synergies with the Regional Government and related agencies, by involving all components of society in their respective areas. Approach the community sincerely, through humane methods, as well as prevailing norms and culture, and avoid all forms of violence, arbitrary or arrogance actions that will harm oneself, the good name of the unit, and the Indonesian Army,” said Dudung.
In addition to the two positions of regional commander, the chairman of Persit Kartika Chandra Kirana PD Jaya/Jayakarta and the chairman of Persit KCK PD Iskandar Muda also handed over souvenirs from Dudung to Maj. Gen. Untung Budiharto and his wife and Major General Mohamad Hasan and his wife.
