The way the GeForce RTX 3080 12GB is released is special. The card issued shortly after CES was not mentioned in words at CES, the issue itself was talked about a day in advance, it took place without reviews and Nvidia did not even state the official price of the card. However, it began to appear in some European price lists for the lowest amounts about € 200 higher than the GeForce RTX 3080 (10GB), specifically from € 1700.

It is worth emphasizing perhaps only the basic beat, which (despite what some sites claim) is not the same as the GeForce RTX 3080, but was reduced to 1260 MHz according to the official specifications of Nvidia. TDP is set at 350 watts as with the Ti and GeForce RTX 3090 series.

According to the available information, Nvidia does not plan to launch the Founders Edition, ie the reference version. According to the official statement, the GeForce RTX 3080 12GB will coexist with the classic GeForce RTX 3080, which will therefore remain on the market.
If we are to operate with European official prices for the price list, the classic GeForce RTX 3080 was issued for € 719, the GeForce RTX 3080 Ti for € 1199 and Asus set its own GeForce RTX 3080 12GB models at the recommended prices of € 1639 and € 1519. This is 52-64% above the expected recommended price, however, the recommended prices of card manufacturers cannot be compared with the recommended prices of chip manufacturers. They are closer to the current real prices on the market, which are generally at least 50% above the recommended prices of chip manufacturers, rather higher (2-3 times).
