As it had announced previously, Gears 5 will receive the expansion Hivebusters this december. With the arrival of the main title on Xbox Series X / S, there was no doubt that players would be asking for exclusive new content to try on the console, and it was not long in coming.
Gears 5: Hivebusters is an expansion of the central campaign of the game of 2019 that will put us in the shoes of a squad of fighters specialized in destroying nests of the Swarm. Keegan, Lahni and Mac are the playable characters of the DLC, that you might remember from the Escape mode of the main game. Here you can see the trailer launch:
Hivebusters will be available next December 15. Players will have the possibility to complete the campaign cooperatively, either online or locally. In this last mode you can play with split screen. So you know, you will not be alone in your battle against the Swarm. A campaign of about three hours is promised, although we will see it when it opens next week.
The expansion will have some new features compared to the 2019 title. One of the most interesting is that now you can use and improve the Ultimate Skills, something that was taken from the Hordes mode of the main title. It will be an interesting addition, and we can’t wait to see how it complements this new adventure.
