A very beautiful harvest! This year again, the restaurants of the Lille metropolis shone as part of the Gault&Millau Tour Hauts-de-France. The event, which travels to each region of France, highlights local gastronomy. In 2023, the capital of Flanders will once again honor its reputation with four prizes awarded to establishments in Lille and mainland France. Here is the complete list.

The ultimate prize for an institution in the Lille metropolis

The “Gault&Millau d’Or”, a major prize awarded during this event, was awarded to Édouard Chouteau, from the gourmet restaurant La Laiterie in Lambersart. A consecration for the young 30-year-old chef, who cut his teeth with the greatest French chefs: Pierre Gagnaire, Eric Fréchon, Alain Passard, Christophe Pelé and Mathieu Pacaud.

Arriving in 2020 at the helm of the Lambersart institution, Edouard Chouteau quickly attracted the attention of critics. At La Laiterie, he delights the eyes and taste buds through authentic, inventive and passionate cuisine. Exceptional products are revealed in bold taste combinations.

Thanks to his talent, he won the “Great of Tomorrow” prize in 2021. And so it was only two years later that he received one of the greatest rewards from the famous yellow guide.

“We couldn’t have dreamed of better. For our beautiful house, which is celebrating its 120th anniversary this year, it is very symbolic,” the chef confides to Lille Actu.

Tree once again distinguished

After Diego Delbecq last year, it is the turn of Félix Robert to be awarded the “Great of Tomorrow” trophy. A logical continuation for the chef of Arborescence à Croix, who has continued to reap rewards since the opening of the establishment in June 2022. One of the latest to date is the first star in the Michelin Guide.

It must be said that the work of Félix Robert and his brigade, enhanced by the wines carefully chosen by Nidta Robert, is incredible. All in a refined and natural setting. A culinary experience to absolutely live!

A Lille sommelier rewarded

Among the other prizes awarded by Gault&Millau, there is a “Techniques of Excellence” trophy for chef Christophe Hagnerelle of Val d’Auge in Bondues.

In Lille, sommelier Alexandre Dathy of the 49R restaurant, located rue Royale, also received an award for his work.

In the North, Laurent Sueur from L’Escargot in Valenciennes was awarded the “Home” trophy.

Other prices in the region

In Pas-de-Calais, the Sur Mer restaurant located in Merlimont received no less than two trophies: “Cuisine of the Sea, Lakes and Rivers” for Farès Awad and “Young Talent in the Dining Room” for Aurélie Petit.

Finally, the Somme department also shines with 4 prizes:

“Young Talent” for Thomas Dumont from the Hyacinthe restaurant in Amiens, “Terroir d’Exception” for François-Xavier Sailly from the Schorre restaurant in Saint-Valery-sur-Somme, “Tradition d’Aujourd”hui” for Éric Boutté from L’ Aubergade in Dury, “Pastry chef” for Margot Servoisier of the Les Gâteaux de Margot pastry shop in Amiens.
