Gastroenteritis: which regions are most affected?

In mainland France, last week, the incidence rate of acute diarrhea seen in general practice consultations was estimated at 289 cases per 100,000 inhabitants. At national level, this rate remains below the epidemic threshold. Last week, 190,000 people were affected by gastroenteritis in France.

New Aquitaine among the three most affected regions

At the regional level, the highest incidence rates were observed in the Grand Est region with 656 cases per 100,000 inhabitants, but also in Occitania with 411 cases per 100,000 inhabitants and in New Aquitaine with 402 cases per 100,000 inhabitants. Again, these rates are below epidemic thresholds, according to the Sentinel network.

In Brittany, the incidence rate was 330 cases per 100,000 inhabitants, in Auvergne – Rhône-Alpes, 96 cases per 100,000 inhabitants and in Center – Loire Valley at 258 cases per 100,000 inhabitants. Note the case of Corsica, which rose in one week from 58 cases per 100,000 inhabitants to 280 cases per 100,000 inhabitants.
