President of the European Parliament Roberta Mezola called on European countries to impose an embargo on Russian energy resources.

She wrote about it in Twitter.

“The European Union will not be blackmailed. We are not afraid of Putin. Poland and Bulgaria and other countries will find our support. The European Parliament calls for an immediate pan-European embargo on energy supplies controlled by the Kremlin. It’s time to break our dependence once and for all,” Metsola said.

26 April Russia stopped gas supplies to Poland under the Yamal contractas well as suspended gas supplies to Bulgaria.

In the EU, the blocking of gas supplies by the Kremlin due to the unwillingness to pay for blue fuel in rubles was called “an attempt at blackmail.”

As the head of the European Commission Ursula von der Leyen noted, Europe was ready for it and is working to ensure alternative supplies and the best possible storage levels across the EU.

Soon in the Western press, citing sources in Gazprom messages started appearing about the alleged payment by some EU countries of gas in rubles, as the Russians insist on this.

Austria, which was also ranked among such countries, called it “fake” Russian propaganda”.
