Garuda Indonesia Sorong branch manager Ranto Situmeang said that he had not received a report from the center that there were passengers who in the health document tested positive for co-19 boarding flight GA 682 from Jakarta to the city of Sorong on Saturday (27/6).
“As far as I know, at the airport, the airline did not check the health protocol documents. That is the authority of the Port Health Quarantine Office (KKP) of the airport,” Ranto Situmeang said via message WhatsApp reported by Antara, Monday (29/6).
According to him, the airline only checks airplane tickets, while the one who checks passengers’ health documents according to the covid-19 protocol is the Port Health Quarantine Office.
The airline only checks KTP, whether it matches the passenger ticket when boarding. The letter of rapid test and laboratory examination letter about Covid-19 are the authority of KKP.
KKP Airport Coordinator Domine Eduard Osok Sorong Dr. Farida Tariq, who gave a separate statement, said there were passengers with the initials WY, students of the Adem program from South Sorong were found to be positive covid-19 when examining health documents.
It was known when the person concerned got off the Garuda Indonesia flight GA 682 on Saturday (6/27) at 6:20 CET.
After the positive swab test was found out, he continued, the passenger was immediately taken to the Domine Eduard Osok Sorong Airport isolation room for further handling. The passenger was then picked up by the Sorong City Covid-19 Task Force for the Acceleration of Handling to be quarantined.
He explained that passengers who boarded from Jakarta’s Soekarno-Hatta Airport were still inspected according to the health protocol. Maybe because there are a lot of passengers and KKP health workers there are limited, so that officials are overwhelmed to check health documents so they can get away.
“We have also sprayed disinfectant on the aircraft before raising passengers from Domine Eduard Osok Sorong Airport,” he said.
