games, but not all next-gen!

A show for the Xbox Series X certainly, but focused on the Xbox brand.

This event dedicated to the Xbox Series X took place under the sign of exclusives. Of course, Halo was the very first game shown with the added bonus of a gameplay session. Unlike Sony, Microsoft has opted for a 60 FPS broadcast to show that its console achieves this framerate in all games.

Technically, we can find everything, but we feel that several games are developed on old engines and improved to the maximum on Series X like Tell My Why. On the other hand, some exclusives suggest a phenomenal power like Avowed. One thing is certain, Xbox Series X and PC owners will have every interest in opting for Game Pass. Given the number and quality of Microsoft exclusives presented and their day one availability on Game Pass, this subscription is more and more attractive.

If side games, we were satisfied, but not as much as we hoped, still nothing has been revealed as to the price and the release date. However, Yakuza Likle Dragon announced to be available on the day of the Series X launch by Sega was inadvertently listed for November 13 on the Microsoft Store. This error has since been withdrawn, but since Microsoft is unwilling to give a date, the rush to withdraw it suggests that the rumors are correct.

Microsoft also didn’t show the Xbox Series S, the Access version that’s supposed to run the same games, but at 1440p. It is already planned that it will be presented at the end of August, which should also give rise to the unveiling of the prices and the launch date.

Halo Infinite

The principle does not change, but several evolutions for Halo Infinite! First graphically, it is a beautiful slap certainly fluid and which presents us with a universe faithful to the series. We especially note the appearance of several new weapons and a gameplay that seems more flexible than in the past in terms of melee during combat.

Dragon Quest XI S : Echoes of an Exclusive Edge

Until now exclusive to the Switch, Dragon Quest XI S arrives on Xbox exclusively since the game will benefit from its availability on the Game Pass as soon as it is released. This is huge news for Microsoft, which is damning Sony’s pawn in its own territory, and which could lead the Japanese public to finally consider Microsoft’s console better.

State of Decay 3

Difficult to say, the trailer presented seemed rather to be a cutscene created for the occasion. In any case, Microsoft perseveres in its game of survival!

Forza Motorsport

The next Forza is likely to visually hurt the competition. Microsoft is targeting photorealism, and is approaching it with this future version confirmed in 4K at 60 FPS. For the rest, we should find the usual gameplay of the title which gives the choice between arcade and simulation oriented,

Everwild

Announced last year, Everwild is a new poetry-inspired Rare game that could prove to be a nice stopover. If it offers a bucolic universe, this beautiful nature also contains dangers.

Tell Me Why

This game, which will be released in several episodes, also appears to be an exclusive game available only for download. In the shoes of twins Alyson and Tyler, you will have to solve the mysteries linked to your childhood. Taking place in the frozen scenery of Alaska, Xbox exclusivity requires, it will be included in the Game Pass.

Ori and the Will of the Wisps

Released earlier this year, this enhanced version of Ori 2 for Xbox Series X will benefit from some visible improvements. In addition to an animation that will display a constant 60 FPS, while it turns more around 40 to 50 FPS on One X, it should benefit from many additional effects and the addition of ray tracing.

The Outer Worlds: Peril on Gorgon

Available on September 9, this episode is an extension to the excellent, but a bit short, Outer Worlds released at the end of 2019. The gameplay seems quite delusional as does the story, which gives another twist to the rather serious atmosphere which had prevailed in the main part.

Grounded

The more Microsoft unveils videos, the more we wait for this game which may offer a very special atmosphere and adventure in this garden where we are reduced to a Lilliputian size.

Avowed

Obsidian’s reputation for RPGs is what Arrowed hits hard for. Already graphically, it’s a truly magnificent next gen game that seems to harness the power of the Series X.

As Dusk Falls

This interactive drama offers to live the life of two families over thirty years. The choices made even at the very beginning of the adventure will have consequences throughout the story, a game that should therefore benefit from a great replayability to know all the subtleties of the script.

Hellblade 2

The continuation of the game with the playability and the particular atmosphere of Ninja Theory returns for a second opus which will put the emphasis on graphics. What could be more natural for a contemplative and atmospheric game? We hope for better regulated fights than in the first, however.

Psychonauts 2

The excellent and cult Psychonauts on Xbox will finally have a sequel! And what a sequel! Full of color, offering a world as crazy and full of ideas as the first, and to top it off, Jack Black on vocals!

Destiny 2 Beyond Light

The Series X version of Destiny 2 will run in 4K at 60 FPS, while gamers won’t have to pay anything if they bought it on Xbox One. Visually, this Series X version does not bring improved graphics specifically for the console. It’s the same game as on One X, but with doubled framerate and better managed shadows. Thus adorned, it has almost nothing to envy to the PC ultra version.

Stalker 2

Stalker impressed players with its wide open spaces and its universe inspired by the surroundings of Chernobyl. The sequel seems to take the same lineage, desolate lands, often hostile inhabitants, and the loneliness to face for exploration and total immersion.

Warhammer 40 000 Darktide

Scheduled for 2021, this Warhammer 40,000 presents four players and as always facing them hordes of hundreds of enemies. Again, a short cutscene has been unveiled, so we’ll have to wait to find out more.

The Gunk

Available at the launch of the Xbox Series The Gunk is an exploration adventure game that places you in a character with a vacuum cleaner to absorb a strange black substance, thus revealing passages and allowing him to progress.

The Medium

Set in two parallel universes, this horror game that seems to be the baby of Resident Evil and Silent Hill’s hidden loves. The atmosphere is unhealthy and has something slightly disturbing, in short we can not wait to play it.

Phantasy Star Online 2 New Genesis

Phantasy Star Online is back! Originally released on Dreamcast, the MMO laid the groundwork and led the way for many games.

CrossFireX

Announced last year, the Xbox version will be enriched with a single player campaign that we owe to Remedy. The online part is still handled by Smilegate. Very popular in Asia, this shooting game even attracted more players than Counter Strike. On Xbox Series X, the game seems to be making good use of its ray tracing and animation capabilities. Technically we risk having a very nice next game with a campaign as explosive as a Call of Duty.

Fable

Developed by Playground Games the next Fable showed a short cutscene tinged with the sometimes cruel humor of the game. Nothing else was shown, so we know that it will happen one day and that Microsoft will reveal more in the next month or next year.

And here is the conference in its entirety:
