This year’s CES is full of products with big numbers and technological breakthroughs that arguably cost a fortune, but does everyone really need monitors and $3,000 to $5,000 gamer laptops and even more expensive TVs?
In any case, the trend is in this direction, also represented by the Odyssey Neo G9 among the major innovations of Samsung. This is done via DisplayPort 2.1, aspect ratio 32:9 offering with 8K resolution. The 7680 x 2160 panel is 57 inches, it’s like two 4K monitors side by side. DisplayPort 2.1 is still only supported by the AMD Radeon RX 7000 series. Therefore, 240Hz and 8K are only possible with an AMD card.
By the way, the novelty uses Mini LED quantum backlighting, flex 1000R, VESA DisplayHDR 1000 plecsni. There’s no price yet, but similar models like the Odyssey Ark started at $3,500.
