Galicia will be immunized at the end of the year | Radio Galicia

By the end of the year, the entire Galician population will be vaccinated. The general director of Public Health, Carmen Durán, says it in the SER, convinced that vaccination is going at a good pace. This, as long as the planned deliveries are met. The Xunta is in favor of vaccinating children and adolescents as soon as possible. The horizon that is handled is towards the end of summer, once 70% of the immunized population has been reached. Durán does not rule out an administration in parallel with other age groups.

Regarding Astrazeneca, the head of Public Health confirms that those over sixty years of age will receive the second dose at twelve weeks of the first, and it will be from the same pharmaceutical company. Those under 60 will have to wait, there is still no decision made on whether they will receive different vaccines. The doubts in this regard are expected to be cleared up next Tuesday.

For now, June will be a key month. The arrival of more Pfizer vaccines will speed up the deadlines and the first dose will begin to be administered to Galicians aged between 40 and 49 years.
