The mourning for the native Carinthian Mike Wiegele is great. At the age of 82, the entrepreneur recently passed away after a serious illness. He was drawn from Carinthia to his adopted home Canada at an early age. There he founded what is now the world’s largest “helicopter skiing” company in 1970.
The Canadian Ski Guide Association followed later. This is a training institute for skiers. “It is with great sadness that we announce that our founder and legend Mike Wiegele has passed away forever,” said the company in a touching obituary. Wiegele’s big heart and his passion for skiing will not be forgotten.
