Accent Baskets Salzkotten – TSVE Bielefeld 78:51. The Sälzer won under difficult conditions. Coach Stefan Schettke and center Thomas Stukenberg had to pass at short notice. Raimund Heggemann took over the coaching, while veteran Marius Nolte helped out on the field together with Daniel Lieneke. With an attentive defense, a 18:4 lead was quickly thrown out, which grew to 38:19 by the break. After half time, the fighting strong hosts left nothing to burn. Julius Veenhof (16), Tom Wittmann (14), Denis Federici (11) and Alexander Engel (11) scored in double digits. Nolte (8) and Lieneke (3) also contributed points.
Paderborn Baskets II – City Baskets Recklinghausen II 94:82. “I don’t agree with the 82 points of the guests. We were often too careless in defense,” criticized Milos Stankovic. However, the Baskets coach was happy about a really good first quarter, which his team won 33:12. After that, the Baskets didn’t shine anymore, but never came into danger again and provided the Accent Baskets Salzkotten with such important protection.
Oberliga gentlemen
VfL Schlangen – Hertener Löwen II 73:44. The hosts won a really good first quarter with 34:9. “We showed our entire repertoire there,” said a satisfied trainer Sinan Erbas, whose team ultimately clinched a victory that was never in jeopardy.
National League Men
Paderborn Baskets IV – SC GW Paderborn 80:72. “It was definitely not our best game of the season. But I’m glad that we won and reached the promotion round early,” Udo Brockmann summed up after the city derby. The Baskets coach had to do without several players. The game stayed balanced for a long time. “But then we finally brought more energy to the field and pulled away,” said Brockmann.
SC Borchen – TV Salzkotten II 55:103. The Sälzer ended the preliminary round with the tenth win in a row, celebrated after the 106:57 over the SC GW within only five days the second hundred and also go into the promotion round as favorites. VfL Schlangen – SC GW Paderborn 47:42. Unlike the first leg, which VfL won 62:43, this derby was tight. Both teams had to compete weakened. SC GW fought back before Violetta Hopfauf finally put the snakes on the road to victory with five points in a row at the beginning of the final quarter.
