From tomorrow, France will enjoy something we have been using for a long time

As of Monday, every adult French citizen can now be vaccinated against Covid-19, RFI reported. This will be possible regardless of the age group and without the need to prove a medical condition.

People between the ages of 18 and 49 were initially identified as the last group in the vaccination plan for the population, which went into effect last December.

In late April, President Emmanuel Macron said all adults would be eligible, regardless of medical conditions, by June 15. This date has already been moved to May 31.

However, authorities have called for patience, as available vaccines may not be enough to increase demand.

Currently, about 23 million people – a third of the population – have already received at least one dose of the vaccine. But 28 million French adults eligible for vaccination have made no attempt to get vaccinated. An average of 500,000 doses are given each day.

The incidence statistics continue to improve – 10,675 new cases across the country and 3,028 patients in intensive care.

However, according to experts, 10,000 cases per day is still too high a number if France does not want to survive the fourth wave of the disease.
