From Morlaix to Miami, Romain Daniellou’s “American dream”

“The American dream still exists”, assures Romain Daniellou. And it can even become reality, as evidenced by the professional trajectory of this 25-year-old Finisterian, now an entrepreneur in the United States. Born in Morlaix (29), Romain Daniellou spent his childhood on a farm in Saint-Thégonnec. Then, at the age of 12, this young footballer joined the Stade Brestois Academy where he followed a sports-study course.

A scholarship to go to the United States

After obtaining his baccalaureate, the Breton, still passionate about football, left to live in the United States thanks to a school and sports scholarship. “I played for the university, and in return my studies were paid for,” he says. This desire for America may have been born thanks to one of the family figures: “I have an uncle who went there in the 1950s, we called him the American. For thirty years he worked very hard in New York as a waiter. What he had put aside allowed him to have a nice retirement in France…”

Difficulties finding a job

After two years in the Boston area (Massachusetts), then two years near New York, Romain Daniellou validated a double degree in computer science and international trade. The path of professional sport having been considerably blocked due to the health crisis, he is trying to find a job in his host country. “I sent 250 CVs and I only had two interviews… It’s very complicated to get a job, especially with a one-year visa, as was my case. “After this” big slap “, the young man therefore decides to start his own business. “At the time, I was confined to a 10 m² with my girlfriend. I just had my computer, and I started buying and reselling land in a targeted area. This signed the birth certificate of his company, LandQuire, co-founded with Thibaut Guéant, at the end of 2020.

Our goal is to encourage French-speakers, and particularly Bretons, to invest in the United States by providing them with a turnkey solution

Today, the company has 55 employees and uses mass technology: “We send around 30,000 offers per week to owners, knowing that it takes around 5,000 to successfully buy land”, notes Romain Daniellou . LandQuire primarily seeks high yield investment products. They are then made available to French-speaking investors on a platform… To be resold between six and twenty-four months later, with a 50-50 profit sharing. “Our goal is to encourage French-speakers, and particularly Bretons, to invest in the United States by providing them with a turnkey solution,” underlines the Finisterian. Hundreds of people have already taken the plunge.
