From 39,300 euros for basic monoblock: you have to pay this for your own swimming pool | MyGuide

LiviosDo you dream of your own swimming pool? Bouwsite Livios made the calculation and explains what costs you have to count on if you want to splash in your garden. From purchase to maintenance: you have to foresee this budget.

Due to global warming, we are increasingly experiencing hot summers. This has given an impulse to the swimming pool industry: more and more people want a swimming pool in their garden. Do you dream of that too? But you have no idea which budget you should set aside for this? Guillaume de Troosstembergh Van LPW Pools tells you how much you pay for your own swimming paradise.

Monoblock: from 39,300 euros

There are two main categories of swimming pools. On the one hand, preformed shells (monoblock) made of composite. On the other hand, architectural baths that are poured on site in concrete or built from masonry. Read more about the different types of swimming pools here.

At LPW Pools, the entry-level model of 3.20 x 6.85 meters costs 39,265 euros, including installation, infiltration, curbstones and lighting. For that money you have a ready-to-use monoblock, without a pool shutter. All prices include 21% VAT, because a swimming pool as a luxury product does not qualify for the reduced VAT rate.

Such a walkable roller shutter is a must, according to Guillaume. “Not only is it a lot safer, it also maintains the water temperature better and lasts much longer than a tarpaulin.” But the price is rising: “Allow an extra 25 to 30% for a swimming pool with a roller shutter. So you come to 60,000 to 64,000 euros for a swimming pool of 4 x 10 meters, which is the most sold format with us. All inclusive.”

Architectural swimming pool: 55,000 euros

Architectural swimming pools are custom built. As a result, the price differences are large. “Yet here, too, you have to count on prices around 55,000 euros for a basic swimming pool. If you want an automatic dosing system for pH and chlorine, then 3,000 to 3,600 euros will quickly be added.”

If you build your own swimming pool, you save a lot. You can already make a splash for less than 25,000 euros. But then you are responsible for the quality and you cannot fall back on guarantees.

Swimming channel: from 65,000 euros

The aesthetic highlight is the swimming channel pool, which focuses on swimming lengths. A long narrow model, extremely tight, ideal for the more sporty swimmers. The ideal dimensions here are 12 by 3.60 meters with a straight side staircase and a first step that has been made slightly wider so that you can get in and out more easily.

Maintenance and heating: from 120 euros per month

• Heating
“We recommend heating your swimming pool with an inverter heat pump. Such a heat pump has an extremely high efficiency and adjusts its speed depending on the outside and water temperature”, explains Guillaume. Your energy consumption can be limited in this way. “That will cost about 800 euros in electricity from Easter to the end of September. A heat pump costs 4,000 to 5,000 euros, but there are often promotions where the heat pump is included in the purchase.”

Do you want to swim all year round? Then choose a four-season heat pump that also works at low outside temperatures. “Such a more expensive heat pump costs 6,000 to 10,000 euros.”

• Maintenance products
“If you do the maintenance yourself, you need 400 to 600 euros worth of maintenance products per year. Together with the heating, you come to a total of 1,400 euros, or about 120 euros per month.”

Preparing for summer and winter
Guillaume recommends that you regularly consult your swimming pool specialist. “Certainly for preparing for summer and winter. Then you can be sure of proper functioning and there are never any misunderstandings about the warranty.” A swimming pool company asks about 200 to 300 euros per maintenance.
