hit series The Lice Mother also catches on abroad. The French remake premiered last week on channel M6 and attracted between 2.2 and 2.7 million viewers. Producer Bing Film & TV announced this on Friday.
The Lice Mother was released in France under the name like kids (Like Children) and came out as the best viewed fiction program last week. Le Figaro reports that the new series, which 26 writers collaborated on, will be broadcast at least until August.
The popular Dutch comedy series has now been remade in four countries. In addition to France, this includes Belgium, Germany and Hungary.
The Lice Mother, conceived by Jan Albert De Weerd and Ilse Warringa, it is about the daily worries at primary school De Klimop. Two seasons of the series attracted many millions of viewers in 2018 and 2019. The series was also awarded the prestigious Nipkow disk. There was also a cinema film that attracted more than half a million visitors last year.
The leading roles in the Dutch version were played by Ilse Warringa, Diederik Ebbinge and Jennifer Hoffman.
