“French Coastal Rowing Championships 2023: Results and Winners”

The rowers and rowers approached the finals under a radiant sun in the city of Ponant this Saturday, May 27, 2023. The navigation conditions, milder than the day before but just as interesting, allowed the competitors to make the difference during the races. .

Throwback to Friday’s finals:

The category of quadruple sculls with coxswain senior mixed disabled-health was won by Saint Nazairein front of’Rowing Arcachonnais and the second Nazer boat.

The titles of champion of France in double senior woman handi PR3 (SF2x PR3) and in two of mixed senior couple handi-valid PR3-ID (SM2x HV PR3-ID) return to the club ofRowing Arcachonnais. The day ended with the four with coxswain senior mixed (SM4+). It’s’Rowing Sète who wins the race. THE Marseille Rowing Club comes to die just 5 seconds behind the winners of the day. There Nautical Society of Monaco completes the podium.

These four finals allowed the public to prepare for the big day of the French Coastal Rowing Championships, on Saturday, which has no less than 20 finals between 9 a.m. and 4:30 p.m.

This second day started with the men’s solo races. It is the rower of Cherbourg, Paul Leveque who wins the gold ahead Nathan Puchclub rower Sete who had won the title the day before in the four with coxswain senior mixed (SM4+). In the senior women’s four sculls category (SF4x+), theRowing Seynois wins the gold by over 30 seconds ahead of the boat of the Rowing Club de Marseillfrom and Saint Jean de Luz Do yout. As a 40-year-old master (M40F4x/+), the Chablais Rowing Thonon ahead of thePlougonvelin Sea Rowing and the Nautical Club of Pornic.

The women’s solo race (SF1x) saw the clean and smooth victory of Jessica Berra (Hendaye EAE) in front of the rower of Grau-du-Roi Aurore Combes et Aude Lannuzel of the club of Saint-Cassien. In master 40 years (M40F1x), Emma Danjean of the club of Cassis becomes champion of France by beating the rower ofAviron Club du Bassin de Thau Elisabeth Dyskiewicz et Florence Samyn of the clubPlougonvelin Sea Rowing.

We had the right to enormous suspense in the senior women’s doubles because only 2 seconds separated the first two boats. This discipline was expected, it did not disappoint! Victory full of authority for the club of Gravelines in quadruple sculls senior man (SH4x/+) in front of the Nautical Society of the Bay of Saint-Malo et Rennes Students Rowing Club. In masters (M40H4x/+), the gold medal was won by the Nautical Society of the Bay of Saint-Malo in front of the CNautical club in Chambéry le Bourget-du-Lac and theRowing Seynois.

Among young men in four pairs (J18H4x/+), the Nautical Society of Monaco imposes itself in a very beautiful way in front of the Rowing Club de Marseille and theRowing Union Nautique de Lyon. In four men’s sculls J16 (J16H4x/+), Monaco wins as with the J18s in front Saint Nazaire et Montauban A.

In mixed doubles J18 (J18M2x), the title goes toRowing Arcachonnais in front of’Rowing Club Bitterois et Union Nautique Montalbanaise.

In women’s four sculls J18 (J18F4x/+), victory goes to the Nautical Society of Monaco in front of the club La Rochelle. On D16 (D16F4x/+), the Rowing Club de Monaco take the title ahead Montauban A.

In mixed doubles master 40 years (M40M2x), theRowing Seynois win gold in front of Nautical Society of the Bay of Saint-Malo and the Chablais Rowing Thonon.

For the last final of the championships, we had a great fight in the mixed senior quadruple category (SM4x/+) with the victory ofRowing Seynois as in the previous race. There Nautical Society of Avignon fails just 7 seconds from first place. Thonon comes to take the bronze medal.

The Nautical Society of Monaco comes to win the 2023 ranking of these French sea championships with 232.88 points ahead Saint-Malo (186.51 points) and the Seyne sur Mer (183.75 points). See you in 2024 for the next edition of the French Coastal Rowing Championships in Dunkirk.
