French Basketball Players Abroad: Latest Updates and Stats for NBA and Beyond

As the NBA regular season comes to an end, the last places in the Playoffs are to be shared. In this frantic race, several French people are concerned.

Every week, Basket Europe offers you a complete overview of the performance of our French nationals abroad. Each month, we also take stock with the main expatriates in the United States (NBA, G-League, NCAA).

During this last month, the most prominent Frenchie was still Rudy Gobert. Collecting double-double performances, the Picard remains very valuable in the Wolves game and behind leader Anthony Edwards. Karl-Anthony Towns finally returned to the courts on March 23, enough to help offensively where Gobzilla is limited in his offensive contribution inside. Capable of defeating the Kings and then stringing together three defeats against teams from the West, Minnesota had an ups and downs last month and is heading towards a Play-in to get its ticket in the post-season. In addition, Rudy Gobert made the news by openly criticizing the refereeing during the setback against the Suns, complaining that the best franchises were favored. No sooner said than done, immediately penalized, the pivot was fined $25,000.

The wind finally seems to be blowing in the right direction for the Clippers. After a few matches getting used to the arrival of Russell Westbrook, Nicolas Batum and his teammates moved up the standings. Currently 5th, they are currently safe from a Play-in but they will not be able to have the advantage of the field in the event of Playoffs. Integrated into the starting five for four games in place of Marcus Morris, Batman takes advantage of a tactical adjustment from Tyronn Lue to express himself more. From his first tenure, the winger scored 24 points (8/10 from three-pointers).

Still in the West, Frank Ntilikina dives with the Mavericks towards elimination at the doorstep of the Playoffs. The former playmaker of Strasbourg plays little and attends, at least from the bench, the tumble of Dallas since the transfer made by the Texas franchise to recover Kyrie Irving at the trade deadline.

Théo Maledon and Killian Hayes progress… in defeat

Théo Maledon has had an eventful season but manages to find his account for this end of the regular game. Sent to the G-League to play with the Greensboro Swarm, the former Villeurbannais flourished there with more than 16 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists on average per game. Once the season was over, he returned to play with the big league side. Holder for three meetings, Théo Maledon achieved two good performances with the penultimate of the East. The latest: his 14 assists, his career high, in the defeat – very offensive – against the Raptors.

In Detroit, Killian Hayes caught up with his complicated month of February. After the match in Paris, he had experienced a drop in shooting efficiency. In recent days, he collects outings to more than 10 points per game, including a last 20 points against the Magic. With the Knicks, Evan Fournier wins but does not play. Nailed to the bench for more than a month, our captain of the France team played again on Sunday for seven minutes with the New York franchise in a victory formalizing his place in the Playoffs.
