The A7 is close at Groningen in the direction of Heerenveen due to an accident with a truck with chickens. The vehicle has entered a ditch.
There were 7,000 chickens in the truck. According to Rijkswaterstaat, the birds are still alive and have been transferred to another truck.
The traffic service has started to recover the truck.
Heavy recovery companies and a tow truck have been used to lift the vehicle out of the ditch.
