Numerous employees of the Forest Research and Research Institute Baden-Württemberg (FVA) accepted the company offer to be vaccinated on Wednesday. The Palliativnetz Freiburg provided 250 vaccination doses for the campaign and vaccinated them directly at the FVA. The appointment was also open to employees of the regional council, the municipal forest office and other state institutions.
“Of course we at the FVA have not been spared from Corona, but it is thanks to careful employees and good health management that we have come through the pandemic so far”, reflects Prof. Dr. Ulrich Schraml, director of the FVA. A cross-departmental Corona AG was founded at the beginning of the pandemic and took care of all matters relating to dealing with Corona, from ordering and distributing the disinfectants to the flow of information into the house to organizing the vaccination campaign. “I am grateful that we have such committed employees. This is an important operational component in the fight against Corona, ”says Schraml.
The vaccination campaign on Wednesday got started with the idea of an employee. Together with Corona-AG, he organized the campaign and brought the Freiburg palliative network on board, which provided 250 vaccination doses and vaccinated FVA employees as well as relatives and friends. “I am thrilled by the high response from the registrations,” says Schraml happily. “Of course, it was mostly about boosting, but there were also some second and even first vaccinations.”
Wide range of support:
“The fact that we can offer our employees a wide range of support during this time is great,” says director Ulrich Schraml. “It is important to live up to our responsibility as an employer and to support the health of our researchers.”
Last year, the FVA was awarded and certified the title “family-conscious company” – for years it has been active in the Freiburg network of family-friendly companies “family-NET” and is a member of the “Success factor family” network. Family friendliness is a trademark of the FVA and the compatibility of family and work is an integral part of the mission statement of the research institution. “Of course we don’t rest on these achievements, but take successes as an incentive to keep developing the FVA as an employer,” says Director Ulrich Schraml.
