Freiburg: Fire in a two-story building in Freiburg – burning mattress thrown out of the window!

Mission report:
The message “Smoke from building” was received via the emergency number 112. This was the indicator for the keyword “building fire”.
The fire brigade and two departments of the Freiburg volunteer fire brigade were then alerted.
When the first emergency services arrived, smoke was visible from the building, and one person was standing at an open window in the apartment on the first floor. The two-story building has two apartments on each floor.
The fire was extinguished by the attack force using a C-pipe under breathing protection. A mattress had burned and was brought outside through a window.
The person from the apartment on fire was handed over to the rescue service with smoke intoxication. The other residents, of the three apartments not affected by the fire, were spotted by the emergency doctor and were allowed to stay in their apartments. The affected areas were mechanically ventilated.
The police are investigating the cause of the fire.
