Free Themed City Tours in Düsseldorf in the Run-Up to European Elections: Explore Historical and Contemporary Europe

Free city tours in the run-up to the European elections

Discover “Europe in Düsseldorf”: In the run-up to the European elections on June 9th, the EUROPE DIRECT of the state capital Düsseldorf, in cooperation with Visit Düsseldorf, invites you to free themed tours through the city from March to June. The 90-minute tour takes you to the most important places in historical Europe and contemporary Europe in Düsseldorf.

The state capital Düsseldorf was very closely connected to its neighbors from early on. This proximity is reflected in many places and stories: As an important waterway, the Rhine made Düsseldorf an economic center in Roman times. Later, Jan Wellem and his wife Anna Maria Louisa de Medici left their mark on the city and its European status, and not just among those interested in art. The contributions to the intercultural understanding of the poet Heinrich Heine, one of the city’s most famous sons, the university’s namesake and a European intellectual, still have an impact.

The dates for the city tours at a glance:

  • Sunday, March 3, 2 p.m
  • Sunday, April 7th, 2 p.m
