As part of Dementia Weeks, the Hanover region’s senior citizens and care centers are offering a free online lecture on the topic of dementia and financial help for care on Tuesday, September 12, 2023. From 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. the questions will be how the costs of a care facility can be financed if there isn’t a lot of money, what help for care is available and who is entitled to social assistance. Currently, around 14,000 people in the Hanover region are cared for in an inpatient care facility, of which around a third are now supported in financing the home costs from social welfare funds.

Weeks of dementia in the Hanover region
From plays, information lectures and music events to creative offers and workshops: Dementia Weeks will take place for the second time in the entire Hanover region from September 8th to 29th, 2023. On the initiative of the region’s senior citizens and care centers, the project coordination “Local Alliances for People with Dementia” of the state capital Hanover, the Alzheimer Society Hanover and the Caritas Forum Dementia, a total of over 80 events during this period are dedicated to dementia and how to deal with it this year with a focus on dementia in the younger years.
