Fraudulent Coldplay Concert Ticket Sales: Viewer Shares Friends’ Bad Experiences

JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com – Viewer Coldplay concert Rumi (25) told of the bad experiences of several of his friends who were tricked by ticket brokers.

He said that his friends were deceived with various amounts. Starting from millions to tens of millions of rupiah.

“If the nominal value varies, there is a close friend of mine who was cheated out of IDR 10 million. “Even though it’s CAT 3,” he told reporters at the Gelora Bung Karno (GBK) Main Stadium, Wednesday (15/11/2023).

Rumi said that his friends were cheated by ticket brokers who offered their services on social media.

His friends allegedly believed the broker because they had been persuaded.

“It seems like their (broker’s) portfolio is good. So, the majority of my friends are offered via Instagram when they are looking for tickets. “But when the transaction was over, it ran away,” he said.

Rumi said his friends had made a report to a police station in Jakarta.

Now, the registered report is said to be being processed by the police.

Police are investigating several cases related to fraudulent sales of Coldplay concert tickets. One of the cases was investigated by the Central Jakarta Metro Police who received reports of fraud regarding 400 tickets.

Central Jakarta Metro Police Chief Commissioner Susatyo Purnomo Condro said that the 400 Coldplay ticket fraudster who caused losses of up to IDR 1.3 billion pretended to provide ticket search services to his victims.

However, until now the ticket has not been given, even though the victim has deposited the money.
