The student body and parents as well as the staff of the Frankfurt August-Jaspert-Schule have to be patient. After the Covid-19 tests at the beginning of the week, the primary school says it has not yet received any information from the health department about any corona infections. Accordingly, the school must remain closed for the time being, as in one Letter published on the homepage called. And: “Only when we have written approval for the reopening can we think of a staggered resumption of lessons. We have a particular focus on the fourth grades in order to give the students at least a personal farewell. “
At the weekend, the school announced that it would be closed again due to Corona and upcoming tests. The cuts have now been made. Girls and boys as well as teachers also had to be tested at the Otto Hahn School after there were two corona cases in the student body. This comprehensive school was not closed, instead, according to the school, the lessons continued in the learning groups that had no contact with the infected young people. Over the course of the week, the school management fought against rumors that there were no corona cases at the facility. Rather, the information in the parents’ letter on Sunday is true, as it is said.
Down in new infections
Meanwhile, the Robert Koch Institute (RKI), which is in charge of disease control, reports significantly fewer new infections for Hesse after the sharp increase a week ago. The health authorities reported 21 more confirmed cases to him overnight. Since the pandemic began at the beginning of March, the number of infections officially totaled 10,666; only 197 of them were registered in the past seven days. Around 9800 patients are considered to have recovered. According to this, around 870 infections are still active.
According to the RKI, there are two more deaths in connection with the pandemic. All in all, there are 505. For every corona victim in Hesse there are 19.4 recovered.
Number of recovered estimated.
With regard to the number of those who have recovered, however, the following restriction must always be observed: As the RKI informed the FAZ, it does not officially collect data on the number of those who have recovered. The survey is also not provided for by law. “However, at least in the cases in which most of the information was determined, which had no severe symptoms and which were not admitted to a hospital, it can be assumed that they will have recovered after 14 days at the latest,” it says in Berlin on Headquarters of the institute. The RKI only estimates the number of those who have recovered.
The RKI takes into account those cases that were transmitted at midnight on the respective day. “The reporting date is used to display the newly transmitted cases per day – the date on which the local health department became aware of the case and recorded it electronically,” says the institute’s website. A few days could pass between the notification by the doctors and laboratories to the health department and the transmission of the cases to the responsible state authorities and the RKI. In such cases, there is talk of delayed reporting.
