François Pinault “happy” with the work accomplished in Rennes – Rennes

“Trust, complicity and shared vision”. Between the city of Rennes and the Pinault Foundation, relations are in good shape. The exhibition, “Beyond colors” which hosts 106 works by 57 artists at the Jacobins convent, as well as the exhibition “The color crue” at the Museum of Fine Arts, open their doors to the public from this Saturday. A “joy” for the mayor of Rennes, Nathalie Appéré, delighted to repeat the experience. “Two years ago, the previous exhibition was a popular success, attracting 100,000 visitors. The exhibition testified to the taste and envy of Rennes for contemporary art, ”she declared during the inauguration.

It was also an opportunity for the elected official to highlight the work in favor of a new cultural event: Exporama, which offers free access to Pinault exhibitions for those under 26 and associates the local players that are Les Champs Libres, the FRAC Bretagne and the two contemporary art centers, La Criée and 40mcube. “These initiatives bear witness to the proliferation of art in Rennes and reflect the importance of artistic creation. Rennes hosts 40 workshops for plastic surgeons and offers numerous grants to support creation, ”said the mayor.

On the eve of the opening, François Pinault was passing through. The Breton businessman would he plan to open a museum in the Breton capital, as in Paris? “For the moment, we will continue exhibitions every two years. It’s already good. I am very happy with the work accomplished, ”he told Le Télégramme.
