Francisco Lindor takes to the New York Mets

The Francisco Lindor case is said to be about to be concluded.

According to Jeff Passan, the Cleveland Mets and Indians are close to closing a deal that would send Francisco Lindor to the New York Mets.

It is said that Carlos Carrasco, as rumors wanted, will also be part of the transaction.

And that makes Marcus Stroman happy.

Here is the return: Andres Gimenez, Amed Rosario, Josh Wolf (prospect, pitcher) and outfielder Isaiah Greene (outfielder, prospect) will be the return obtained by the Indians.

Recall that Lindor was under his control for another year before becoming a free agent.

That said, with Carlos Correa, Trevor Story, Corey Seager and Javier Baez all out in a year, if the Mets give Lindor what he wants, he could do like Mookie Betts and sign with his new club.

Obviously, the message this sends to other free agents is important. Adding Lindor and a beloved pitcher like Carrasco is huge for the Mets, who are taking a edge.

On the Cleveland side, the team continue to be unwilling to pay their players and have saved $ 44 million (plus Lindor’s big upcoming contract), but have the pitchers to renew themselves… to a point.

The Mets therefore checked off part of their grocery list. It’s up to the Jays to fight back now.
