TVFrom November 17, Ruth Beeckmans and newcomer Frances Lefebure will once again pair people with disabilities in the second season of ‘Cupido Ofzo’. They map out a fun date for them and guide them through their first steps in dating. “Last season Cupid hit several times and that was so clean and heartwarming to see!” says Beeckmans.

This edition of ‘Cupido Ofzo’ contains some novelties. For example, the candidates will also be followed by a camera crew after their dating adventure. The viewer follows along how they not only get to know each other, but also each other’s environment and friends and family members. Ruth and Frances also go one step further, because for those who do not have a successful first date, they organize a new date.

“Last season Cupid hit several times and that was so beautiful and heartwarming to see! You really build a bond with the candidates and you really sympathize with them. I think it’s great that I can help a number of candidates again this season with the search for a prince or princess on the white horse,” said Ruth Beeckmans.

These are the candidates:
Dries (22 years old, Zottegem) – Autism Spectrum Disorder
–
Dries is a cheerful young man and lives alternately with his mom and dad in Zottegem. After his school career, he is now taking a sabbatical to find out what he wants to do next. His greatest passion: superheroes. Not only does he devour superhero comics and movies, he also writes his own superhero stories.
–
Despite his autism, Dries easily gets to know new people. He has been in love many times, but usually ends up in the friend zone. It has only turned into a real relationship once. His autism sometimes makes it difficult to properly connect with a girl. He hopes that ‘Cupid Ofzo’ can help him regain his self-confidence and thus find true love.

Sascha (22 years old, Kampenhout) – Autism Spectrum Disorder

Sascha has not had it easy in recent years. Her high school career has not been smooth sailing due to her autism. She eventually dropped out of school and has been trying to get her life back on track for two years now. She works one day a week in a residential care center, loves animals and can use all her creativity in drawing.

Sascha is still learning about herself every day and wants to show her full potential to the world. According to her, a lover would fit perfectly into that picture. Many incentives have always been difficult for Sascha and that makes it difficult for her to meet new people.

Stef (29 years old, Geel) – physical disability, spastic diplegia
–
Stef lives with his cat Modest and dog Luna. He spends most of his time working as an independent IT consultant, but his great passion is making radio. He presents his own program every Saturday at Radio Mol. Due to oxygen deficiency at birth, Stef has a physical limitation: spastic diplegia. This makes it difficult for him to walk and he has problems with his fine motor skills. However, this does not stop him from going skiing or taking an adventurous trip every year. He is a real go-getter and planer.

Stef has already had one long relationship. He is looking for someone who can complement him, someone who, just like him, has a positive outlook on life. A partner who also has a disability would balance the relationship for him.

Tine (24 years old, Antwerp) – physical disability, CMT
–
Tine works as a technology consultant. She plays the trombone, likes to swim and devour books. Her friends play an important role in her life and they often go out together. Tine was born with a hereditary disease, a protein abnormality, which means that her nerves don’t work very well. This translates into hands and legs that are sometimes difficult to control. She can walk and cycle, but she needs a wheelchair for longer distances.

Tine is the only one in her group of friends who has a disability and no matter how hard they try to understand her, they can’t know what she’s going through. Therefore, she wouldn’t mind if she had a partner who, like her, has a physical disability. She is looking for a sweet and communicative person.

Klaas (21 years old, Zichem) – Autism Spectrum Disorder

Klaas lives accompanied independently in a studio. Two days a week he works in a crèche and the rest of the week he spends in a day center. Klaas grew up in a large family. With two brothers and a sister, cats, guinea pigs and pigs in the house, the Pauwels home is always lively. Now that he lives alone, he does miss someone to pour his heart out to and to help shape his adult, independent life.

Klaas regularly had a sweetheart at school. Then he regularly met new girls and started ‘applying’ with notes. Now he has no idea how to handle that. Klaas hopes that Ruth and Frances can find someone who also loves children, family moments and adventure.

Ellen (25 years old, Ekeren) – Autism Spectrum Disorder, intellectual disability
–
Ellen still lives at home with her parents and her younger sister and brother. Every week is full with her: working in a kindergarten, working in a crèche and activities in her day center.

Ellen is a cheerful, independent, caring young woman who desperately wants a friend. She’s had sweethearts in the past, but the perfect boy for her hasn’t come out yet. If Ruth and Frances found her that romantic prince on the white horse, the picture would be complete for her.

The singles and dates that will be followed in the further episodes will be presented later.
