France reopens on June 9, here’s what you’ll need to visit – TravelAwaits

Everyone knows theme park food and drink prices are high, but $ 100 for a sandwich?

The Disneyland news starts to make sense when you read the fine print and learn that the sandwich’s serving suggestion is for “6-8 guests.” It starts to make even more sense when you realize the sandwich will be offered in an Ant-Man-inspired kitchen on the soon-to-open theme park’s Avengers campus, along with other oversized dishes.

Not your ordinary kitchen

The oversized sandwich will be available in the Pym Test Kitchen on the Avengers campus. In case you’re unfamiliar with Marvel characters, in the Ant-Man movies Pym’s particles are used in experiments by scientist Hank Pym to make objects – and Ant-Man – shrink, resize, and even reach huge sizes.

The Pym Test Kitchen is a “former lab turned into a quick service restaurant, which includes a lounge area and bar amidst decor that incorporates leftovers from on-going experiments – gigantic soda cans, huge bottles. of condiments and huge cell phones recycled into menu boards, ”according to Disneyland.

“You’ll be the taste testers enjoying hero-sized meals and tiny treats as you watch Pym’s food scientists at work in the kitchen lab,” says Karen McClintock, Content Relations Manager of food and drink, Walt Disney Parks and Resorts explains in a blog post.

“You’ll even be able to watch the growth and shrinkage of an iconic food offering, a pretzel, as it makes its way through the quantum tunnel directly above and centered in front of the kitchen lab. From big to small, from small to big, with the end result: a large pretzel ready to share! “

Large and small appetites

Now about this sandwich. The “Family Size Pym-ini” sandwich, which actually costs $ 99.99, features salami, rosemary ham, provolone, and sun-dried tomatoes on a grilled focaccia. It also includes a marinara dip and arugula salad. An individually sized sandwich is available for $ 14.50, and in keeping with the theme, there’s even a “shrunken, kid-sized” option called “Teeny Pym-ini” for $ 10.

The Pym Test Kitchen also has other items, like a Caesar salad with a “colossal crouton” and the “Not So Little Chicken Sandwich,” which presumably features a huge fried chicken breast on a bun. You can see the full menu here.

Know before you go

Pym’s test kitchen is scheduled to open on June 4, when the Avengers campus at Disneyland California Adventure Park opens.
